Nature

Pollensa is in a privileged geographical situation for nature lovers. Hikers will find numerous alternatives in the wide variety of beauty spots.
The area has a huge wealth of indigenous botany which is revealed in different vegetation communities that range from the characteristic holm-oak woods to more extensive ones like wild olives, mastic trees, rockrose and palmetto (the only European species of palm tree), including an endemic plant, the Naufraga baleárica, which grows in an area near the mountains of Cala Sant Vicenç.
Nature lovers will also be able to enjoy watching specimens such as the osprey, which can be found in Albufereta – a nature reserve covering 295 hectares crossed by the torrent of Font de Mal Any i el Rec and other species like the black vulture (known as “voltor”) and the falcon.
